Great Western Railway Canopy

The Severn Valley Railway contacted Chance Construction Ltd to look at restoring the original Great Western Railway canopy at Bewdley station. Being the main focal point of the station only the highest quality material could be used. As part of this work 2 of the working lines either side of the centre platform needed to be closed for scaffolding to be erected for access.

The canopies original roof covering was removed and recycled. On uncovering the canopy roof structure we found heavily corroded areas that required welding, after these repairs were complete we had the entire roof frame of the canopy sandblasted and painted

The new duel colour custom curved sheets were installed along with the timber joinery all the roof fixings are in line along with 7000 rivets. This project was completed within a tight schedule even with the additional amount of repair that was needed.

A ground-up restoration from sandblasting the iron canopy structure to installing dual colour and then installing the custom curve corrugated tin sheets and custom timber joinery with iron guttering. The clients were very happy with the finished project.

Access Road Bewdley

Access road Bewdley, along with a high volume drainage system to private property. Over half a mile in length

Installation of an access road, we excavated the track bed in preparation for installing geo textile membrane and compacted layers of hardcore, the finished surface was ground sub-base heavily compacted and rolled. This created a low maintenance surface that can cope with the worst weather conditions.

Along with these works we made large modifications to an existing drainage system considerably increasing the capacity and diverting the water out of harm’s way.

Bank House Shrewsbury

This was a complete design and build, major renovation project completed to a very high standard from start to finish.

This project consisted of a rear 2 storey extension including large open plan kitchen/living/dining room/bathroom and utility room to the ground floor. Along with 2 very large double bedrooms, two bathrooms with a large balcony. There was also a very large loft conversion creating a bedroom, bathroom with a sitting room looking out through the floor to ceiling architectural glass on the garden gable end.

Along with these works the existing house and its period features such as oak beams and inglenook fireplace were completely renovated and brought up to date with zoned wet underfloor heating throughout under a high-end porcelain tiled floors, with custom made joinery such staircases and doors etc. This was a full ground-up renovation and extension with all trades and services supplied and managed by Chance Construction Ltd we class this type of project as a turnkey project.

Bridgnorth SVR Station

Bridgnorth Station Severn Valley Railway

Construction of new event storage at Bridgenorth Severn Valley Railway station. This was built to a very high standard to match an existing station extension, period brickwork in English bond using custom sourced and mixed mortar to replicate the existing building.

This project was delivered on time and completed in a safe manner with little disruption to the active footpath throughout the site.

1 Comberton Place – Renovation

Major renovation project to a building owned by the Wyre Forrest district council including window replacement, internal alterations, heating system, bathrooms, roofing and flooring, giving it everything a modern office needs from start to finish.

This project was particularly challenging due to the buildings large size and location with active businesses operating in the premises beneath.

This project was designed and managed throughout by Chance Construction Ltd from the very early beginning to completion with making changes along the way for to suit our client’s needs.

This project was completed to a very high standard with our roster of trusted and reliable suppliers and skilled trades. Delivered on time and in budget.

Chelmarsh SVR track & drainage

Chelmarsh track relay for the Severn Valley Railway Chance construction ltd supplied all the machinery and labour to relay just under a mile of railway track working alongside the SVR’s P-way department and volunteers.

Along with laying the new track, we installed a new drainage system at over half-mile in length, using a high flow twin wall drainage system with catch pits installed every 50m for ease of maintenance.

This work was completed on time to a tight deadline in accordance with the Severn valley railways operating schedule, we have now completed many track relays for the Severn Valley Railway all have been on time and on budget. On completing this relay we were also asked to install a new rubber railway crossing with concrete ramps with a pedestrian walkway.

Comberton Primary School

Comberton primary school contacted us in need of a larger car park with the existing one being resurfaced.

Chance Construction ltd quickly came up with a scheme of works to create a larger car park along with the removal of multiple trees.

These works were completed to a tight deadline due to the school holidays and were completed on time and on budget.

Live and Let Live Inn

We were contacted by the Live and Let inn to come up with a solution to the very steep and uneven bottom entrance to the car park, we came up with a plan to re-landscape the lower end of the car park and extend the access further into the car park reducing the gradient.

This work needed to be completed while the pub was trading. All work was completed with no impact to there trading due to planning around deliveries and customers access to put in place by Chance Construction ltd, the project was delivered on time and in the budget to very happy customers.

GRP Roofing

Just one of many GRP roofing projects we have completed this one incorporates a roof light.

Chance Construction ltd have carried out installations of many GRP roofs over the last 7 years on various sized projects from a large pub roof to a number of garage roofs, GRP is a durable and versatile material that can be used on balconies roof access areas this is the go-to flat roofing system for a quality long-lasting roof covering.

New Build Bungalow Bewdley

New Build – Work is still currently active on this project

Chance Construction Ltd was contacted and asked to be involved in this Large 3 bedroom new build bungalow located on the edge of the Wyre forest boasting large bi-folds and vaulted ceilings from the very beginning.

As the project has been progressing the client has asked us to modify layouts and perform addition structural works, including a custom drainage solution organised and supplied by us. As with all of our projects, we have completed works to a high standard and we have a very happy client.

Tenbury Wells Doctors Surgery

The Tenbury doctors surgery contacted Chance Construction ltd and asked us to come up with ideas to create more space to accommodate a new break room and kitchen along with two new treatment rooms plus a meeting room with extra storage.

We designed floor plans showing internal alterations to accommodate the surgery’s growing needs this was agreed and the work was completed in three phases, to avoid any impact on the day to day operations of the surgery.

This work consisted of a large renovation of a disused wing by installing a staircase to connect the floors and create a large break room and kitchen. The meeting room and two clinical treatment rooms were renovated and installed with no impact on the day to day operations of the surgery and completed in a timely manner. We undertook the renovation of the break room and the two new clinical-grade treatment rooms. This was all designed in house.
